Welcome
Hi! I'm Pastor Marvin!
I have also served as the co-vocational lead pastor of Wellington First Assembly (Kansas) for 6+ years while teaching special education students during the week. I currently teach the Autism Focus / Communication Disorders students at Campus High School, Haysville USD 261 in Wichita, KS. I also keep busy as a member and the former chair for the KSDE Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC).
Somehow, my wife Teresa keeps our family moving in the same direction. She serves as a District Learning Facilitator for Haysville USD 261 and is ABD in her doctorate program of education at Wichita State University.
Working together, our goal is to see families impacted by disability to become fully included in the life of their congregation and community.
This site started out as a place to collect thoughts and resources as our family journeyed through adaptation to the disability of our daughter identified with Down Syndrome. (She is now a high school graduate in a transition to employment program)
During the past two decades of service as a pastor, Christian school administrator, and public school special educator, we've discovered many things along the way. (Click here to learn more about our beginnings.)
In the past decade, I served on the executive board of Friendship Ministries (Grand Rapids, MI) from 2008-2015, connected Christian special educators together through NACSPED and CEC, served with Special Touch Ministries, and completed my 2016 doctoral dissertation in disability ministry and theology from AGTS at Evangel University.
